Will site-wide footer links on a website help in SERPs?

    Say.. the link in question is placed on over 1500+ pages and the pages range from PR 0 to 5. Site is not entirely relevant to your niche. The anchor text used is a keyword for your site.

    Will this mostly have an effect on PR or SERPs?
