I have 2 sites. The content is same for both sites. But both are on different domains. Will my both sites penalized by search engines?
I had the same problem. I don't know if your sites will penalized, but you will don't get a good ranking with duplicated content.
Yes, You might be penalized, but you will definetly hurt both of your sites in placement because of the duplicate content. This was an old tactic that was used by webmasters years ago as they were trying to fool the search engines and get more visitors. So now, duplicate content is a bad thing. You can have two sites about the same subject. It would be in your best interest to optimize these differently anyways just to see which way does better. So create some different keyword phrases to optimize for and get each site optimized for the same topic but with different content and you will be so much better off. You get two sites with the same product but different content and you get to test which optimization is best and then incorporate the best info you find from testing both of these sites into each other. You will end up with two great optimized sites - with different content and both will be doing great. Win Win situation. Connie
If they are on the same IP google will hammer you. If they are linked in any way google will hammer you. Even if they are not on the same Ip, if the content is exactly the same on both sites your not doing yourself any favors.
No! Google will not do anything until they receive any complaint regarding it. It doesnt make any sense that you cant host duplicate contents. It will be illegal only if you put someone else content on ur site.
Yes it will hurt one of those sites ranking, get rid of one of them or simply use robots.txt instep to make sure one of those two won't gets indexed
Yes it will and if you choose to rewrite it, make sure that's actually what you do. Many people think they can jus change a few words around and its not duplicate anymore, this is not true true though and you will be penalized
