Will SE penalise if they find links of Link Exchanging websites on our website?

Some Link Exchange websites say they will approve our application only if they find the link of their website on our website.

As I do not want to get penalised I would like to get some feedback on this.

That depends on who you are linking too .. but in general no link excahnge is not penalised.

do a search for link exchange .. should find a few threads with tons of info.

None of the 4 you mentioned have been banned by Google. That is always a good indicator. Find out if the sites that provide the service are banned from the SE's, find out if the sites that use their services are banned in the SE's.

take the url of a sample page using the software, and plug it into google. if google can display a cache of the page, you're good to go. if they can't, run.

Either way, take their url or anyone using their 'tools' to link and see if they are being banned. If not, they are probably ok, if they are being banned (eg. no listings in db) then a good idea to move on

The good link exchange sites like: Linkmarket.net, linkexchanged.com and linkmetro.com are ok

Definitely not automated link exchange sites where you get thousands of links very quickly. Google might penalize your site but they won't ban it and it won't lose any pagerank.

i'm not sure but some says yes if your ibl's come from bad neigborhood or spammy sites. anyways, just make sure to clear out your backlinks from those bad sites.

The problem of ALL these link exchange programs is that ANY site participating in these programs can be EASILY identified by Google (if anyone doesn't agree, I can say that I have a full list of users for many of these server-based programs - as well as any other interested person does). I don't know if Google cares to punish them, but the problem is that one day it CAN easily do that. So, I'd better advice you to use some other tools which can not be tracked by G.

I have my serious doubts over this getting banned because of link exchange theory. I think "like sites" should be allowed to reciprocate links for better visibility on net. Though they(google) may not like link-partners pages that much. I think they either de-evaluate the links or ignore there values(if they are totally worthless viagra links).
