Will Search Engine penalize me???

Hey friends, i have one query. I am submitting my articles to more than 20 directories each requiring short description of my articles. So, if i will add same description of my article to each directory is there any chance of Google or any search engine penalizing my site considering me as spammer??? Or is it so that i will not be penalized...

That's a good question that many people can only speculate about. One the one hand, sure, Google could see you attempting to spam the search results. On the other hand, if you could get banned from this, then I could do the same thing to get my competitors banned and eventually out position them by submitting the same info to a bunch of directories.

I remember reading in Google's patent that it can be flagged as an attempt to spam the search results if Google finds the same backlink anchor text from many sites. But noting about text in a moderate amount. Unless the pages are exactly the same (EXACTLY), with all the exact info, in the exact same placement, then you should be okay.

I far as I know No, Submitting article to about 20 or 30 good directories is a better strategy than submitting to 100's. If you are submitting a single article with different description or even same description wont harm. [IMO]

However it is a matter of debate why article directories are not under Goggle's scanner? almost all have same or similar articles. :D

You don't get penalized, you trip a filter in the algorithm. Search Engines do not care about your site. It's just software. No one can tell you what will happen, because there are too many variables.

No chance and if ur site contains duplicate content then only little chance of some penalization

no you will not be penalized but don't submit same article in more than 2-3 article sites.

use different descriptions, and different versions of the article. That way it will look to the engines like loads of different content about your topic. Make it unique, or you're basically just wasting ammo.

Don't waste your time! There are only a small handful of article directories worth a dime. Google is not stupid, any attempt to "trick" the system such as posting the same article with slight differences will only give you a headache in the end.

I don't think Google will think you are spamming, but it should generate duplicate content and therefore duplicate content penalty.

I think it would pretty hard for them to penalize you, because it could be anyone on the web submitting your site.

Penalized for sure no, maybe the inbound link from those article pages will be filtered to have no value or less value, but that is not a link building strategy that is actually prohibited by Google terms.

Article directories or even web directories were penalized/filtered only because there were way too many directories that was causing more hassle to Google (and their algorithm) rather then tricking their algorithm.

So, filtered/devalued maybe...(even possibly), but penalized I doubt hard (it would not make sense).
