As the title states im curious about this. Ive heard that original/unique content will give you a boost in getting indexed and more popular etc. Now, if I ran RSS feeds on the home page of my site will it help get me indexed and moving along? Currently my site is pretty new, im not indexed and I have a PR of 0.
RSS content is a way to get your site crawled continuosly after being indexed but does not work for initial indexing. Publishing your own RSS feed for other sites to pickup instead of running someone elses RSS feed on our website is a good way to get lots of traffic. To get indexed just get a backlink from a PR7 or higher website(s) and you will usually get indexed within 48 hours. Getting ranked well in search results is an entirely different issue and publishing RSS feeds will NOT help there. For rank improvement you must publish your own feed that is updated continously and is optimized with your specific keywords. Once other high PR sites pick up your feed you will see ranking improve. Good luck.
Now if someone could tell me how to get a PR7 to link to me I would be happy. I have a couple of sites, one on health and fitness and another on parenting that are pretty much brand new and just getting a link is a chore. Any advise would be very helpful. Thnx D.
This DP forum is a PR7 site. Just add your site URL to your signature. Proof. Do a search on Google for "Searchnology.com" (the site is less than 60 days old) and you will see links from this forum in the first few results. Of course my site is listed first which proves it is indexed. Good luck.
Right now im using CaRP, I hope thats ok... Unfortunately I dont really know enough to write articles worth of an RSS feed...Im currently pulling down a CNN Personal Finance RSS feed which I was hoping would help
