Will redirecting domain help with SEO?

I have 2 webmaster forums, one is newer PR1 and has some backlinks. The other is older PR3 and has a good number of backlinks. Very little traffic to both.

I'm thinking about transferring all the content from the PR3 forum to the PR1 and redirecting the domain. I'm wondering if this will pass the link juice from all the backlinks to the other domain.

 

Yes, with proper 301 redirects it will pass over in time.

301 does the trick every time. Make sure you redirect important pages to the equivalent page on the new site.

 

Actually, I was just going to redirect the domain only. I know redirecting moved pages works, but I need to cancel the hosting, so I can't redirect the individual pages. That's why I asked about redirecting the domain.
