Will redirect links harm my ranking?

    Hello,
My site had lots of external links on the main page. I removed those links and my ranking improved greatly. My customers want these links back but I'm afraid to loose ranking again. Will my ranking be effected if I place redirect links(http://site1.com/go.php?url=http://site2.com/) from my main page to those resources?

Redirect or no redirect if you are afraid of page rank flowing then it will. However, if you are afraid of your rankings, it might be the case that some o your client sites is not trust worthy in Google's eyes and you may have been penalized a bit for linking to bad neighborhood. What you can do is, add some links and see whether they go down in SERP

Just put a nofollow tag in the href and you will be fine.

Yeah, dont push your clients away. This is the main point of no follow attributes. Outgoing links doesn't matter much as long as they dont affect your page rank.
