If my Adwords destination URL is URL1 but it automatically redirects the user to URL2, what page will be judged by adwords Quality score? The content of page 1 or the content of page 2?
They would use the redirected url, but you can't use redirects to an affiliate site, and your display url must match the display domain.
I'm not talking about an affiliate site. Here's an example. If my display/destination URL is a subdomain with no content... www.my-product.mystore.com, but I use the hosts GUI to redirect the subdomain to... www.mystore.com/my-product.htm where the content is. That would be fine right? On a side note... Is it against AW TOS for redirecting to an affiliate even if it's not against the aff TOS? Thanks for the reply.
ghoulardi - your destination URL cannot have the sole purpose of redirecting to another website to bypass the one URL rule. For example, I cannot use the domain nadavs.com to redirect to clickbankproduct.com via my affiliate link. But making the URL look nicer is OK. I do that too (with a subdirectory that doesn't really exist), and it even helps the CTR sometimes. What matters is the domain. nadavs
