Will PR also Transfer while redirecting the Old URL to New URL

Hi to all

I am doing SEO on a project. This Travel website is running Past 2 years and few months before it is launched with New design with Joomla technology. In previous site we have maintained the dynamicaly generated & converted as static HTML pages. but now it is fully dynamic pages. the previous URL style is

• 
  ]1) www.example.com/category/location-name/hotelname.html PR= 1,2,3

• 2) www.example.com/category/hotelname.html PR = 0

st URL is the Old one and the 2nd is the new one. if redirect the 1st url into 2nd URL will the PR and the back links also transfer to the new one.

if alll links are point to new url then pr also transfer to new url

 

PR will be transferred but no idea about back links?

i think back links will be transferred.
