    Hi all, First of all I am new this forum and have many question. I have some experience mainly with SEO. I am currently working on a couple of projects, one of which is a retail e-commerce shop.

    The amount of visitors is slowly but steadily increasing through seo but I would like to know more about affiliate programs and ppc so that I can properly judge whether it would be smart to participate.

    At this moment my conversion rate of visitor to sale is quite a low, I still need to improve my product offerings. The low conversion rate makes me a bit hesitant to pay for visitors to come to my site.

    * I am now a bit under 1 sale per 100 visitors.

    * Low value products, margin is not big.

    What would any of you advise?

    thanks in advance for shining your light on this.

    will ppc or affiliate programs help me?

    I will suggest neither would serve your purpose SEO is what you should go for.

    Why i am suggesting you this because in PPC you will loose your funds and there is possibility that it may prove you costly as compared to your product.

    Secondly affiliate is better than PPC but the choice is that you are eying for a large number of customer to navigate to your website and at the same time your sales increases.

    SEO will rank your site in the organic way and will provide you the selected and more customers who want to buy your product.It will generate loyalty and long term traffic.

    If you are looking for consistency and growth you have to go for aggressive marketing initially.

    If your margin is low - it might not be worthwhile getting affiliate involved IMO

    hi, thanks for the replies so far.

    To make things clear, the SEO is a different story, doing well on that front. It will take a longer time before serious amounts of targeted visitors come in though.

    So far I see that the general opinion is that with low margin products its not advised to use either AM or PPC.

    If anyone has another opinion I would love to hear more.

    You can try out a combination of both the programs.
