Will poor traffic affect a site's SERP?

I know each keyword always has its top 10 SERPs and some keywords have less people search but some have many people search.

Let us just talk about those more competitive keywords SERPs.

    My question is:
When Google updating SERP will google change and lower down SERP for those sites who are having top 10 SERP but they had poor traffics from Google traffic records ?

    Would like to know.

    Thanks

though some may say that Google considers Alexa rank for any site's SERP, but I don't think that traffic affects your site's position... important factors affecting your SERP are -

    keyword density
    backlinks to your site
whether the keyword is in your page title or not
    keywords in image tag
    etc.

I'm a bit confused here. SERP is the one that contributes to your traffic. If you are among the top 10, I just don't understand how are going to have poor traffic. Do you mean to say it's "bounce rate"?

Traffic stats never affect the serps...in fact, the reverse holds true.

It is always serps that affect the increase or decrease in traffic stats!

i read that google can't really measure traffic doesn't have reliable enough indicators, so it's not taken into account at all for search engine results nor for pagerank etc

imagine, if traffic were such a (big) factor then getting to number 1 or 3 would mean you'd likely always be there, regardless, top listings get top traffic, and so the first page results would quickly become static over a relatively short period of time.

serps are determined by all sorts of factors, but traffic isn't one of them...

No that wont happen. Your site being relevant to the inbound links will keep you up in the serps. If your traffic is low its Googles fault so they can penalize you for something they did.

In theory - if a site was at the top of serps for a given keyword, but had such a bad snippet / meta description that large numbers of searchers clicked on the links in positions 2 and 3 much more, then I wouldn't be totally amazed to find that either through manual review or it being one of the over 200 factors in the algorithm, that top result started to drop down - but I don't know, it's just a possibilty.

I don't know for sure if poor traffic will affect your SERP because I've never done a test like that. What I do know is that the major factor in determining your SERP ranking is the number of 1 way links back to your site.

No. Google does not care about your traffic (they might track clicks to your site but I doubt it) or your bounce rate (which they would only be tracking if you have google analytics installed).

If you have high SERPs and poor traffic, you're obviously getting SERPs on the wrong phrases :)

The quality of the content is the most fundamental factors.Google has the means to identify, traffic is not the main factor!

As mentioned above the click through of your site will not impact your SERP, but we can assume that it will. But that is not something you should worry about. Worry more about your content and organic backlinks.

How would google know exactly what your traffic was?
If they do do this then I think its a tad unfair

No, there is no effect. Google has no way to see your traffic, so they cannot use this as a ranking factor.
