This guy here on DP: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=597987 got me with his offer. He is now banned but i sent him $50 via paypal. I reported this to paypal and opened a dispute. Never had to do that before with paypal so i dont know how it works. All i know right now is that i have to wait until Jan. 2, 2008. This is the date until the seller can reply to my dispute. Will i get my money back?
There are chances that you will. Once I have been scammed by a person here for web hosting. I never got the money back by paypal.
service could be a though chargeback process, however tangible items are quite easy for chargeback via Paypal
Yeah file as unauthorized and there is a 99.9% chance you will get your money back. Paypal NEVER fights unauthorized claims... (which is great in a situation like this but horrible when you are trying to honestly sell goods to scam artists) Rest assured, you will get your $50 and the scammer will get a $35 fee laid on him for the chargeback lol MWHAHAHAHAHA
Paypal doesn't have $35 chargeback fee's... You will only get your money back if the funds are still in his paypal account, or if you were covered by Paypal's Buyer Protection Program, otherwise you may win the claim -- but if he doesn't have money in his paypal, it will just make his account negative, but Paypal won't give you anything until he puts money back into his account.
I once lost my money to a scammer but got a small percentage back. It depends on the situation paypal may or may not pay you.
Paypal Will end up review the case and look to see if the seller (would b the other guy) has ever had issues in the past like this before (chances are he did) and then end up refunding either all you money or a good percent of it
there is no chance i also lost about 200 bucks and paypal told that scammers has negative balance so forget
I was scammed for $250 and never got any of it back. I filed a dispute and it was decided in my favor, but paypal didn't give me the money. The reason: "No money in the seller's account."
Indeed. Chances are good in both instances. Never had to do a chargeback as of yet. But had to recover money from sending it to the wrong paypal email on a few times.
