Will PayPal suspend my account if the bank account holder's name is different?

I signed up on PayPal as Vince H. H is not my real last; it is obviously only an initial. If I link it with a bank account that has my full name, will PayPal penalize me in any way?

    they wont suspend

best is to close that account and create new 1 with use real info. as it may give troubble with limitation , and withdraw money later

The only problem may cause is withdrawal since the name is different.

Of course... Paypal would not go to the extent of limiting your account, just for this mistake... but then, there is no point in attaching a bank account with a name that does not match up with that appearing on paypal... as you would not be able to successfully complete a withdrawal request of paypal funds into such bank account.

What if I'm not using the bank account for withdrawals. Will it work if I just need it to verify and unlimit my Paypal account?

The best way to resolve this is put in a change of name request. Having an initial as your last name will cause a great deal of identification problems with your account as you request more services. Whatever you do, don't apply for a debit card before a name change, or you WILL get restricted.

Well this is what I was thinking:

If I could verify it with a different name, then I would do that. Then I would send all my funds to my friend and he could withdraw it with his account. He would pay me and if I want to continue using PayPal I could always make a new account.

    Would this work?

I am a paypal user and I find them to be very reasonable people. So I suggest you tell them the truth and take it from there. They want your business as much as any other people's provided you are not trying to defraud them. I don't think they will consider an honest mistake as an attempt to defraud them.

No, you cannot do that. And if you try, you will be blacklisted. If you do not have a paypal account, you will have difficulties making financial transactions in cyberspace. Also when people know that you have been blacklisted by paypal, they will think many times before dealing with you. So just send an email to paypal explaining the situation and have it corrected. I assure you that paypal is a very helpful and reasonable company.

Exactly. Do NOT commit fraud. Least of all with PayPal. Do the name change request. It will be a bit of a pain, but will save you a ton of hassle later on.

Your bank may send back the money to Paypal.
If your bank accepts the funds coming from Paypal with a slightly different account holder name but a correct bank account number, I don't think that Paypal will create any problem since they can not aware about your different names on your accounts at Paypal and the bank.
