Will Paypal return my money?

    Ok, this is what happened.

I have a domain registered at Godaddy that I don't use any more. It's been lying unused for a year. This domain was set to expired today 6 Jan. Unknown to me, the domain was set to auto-renew. I thought I had turned that thing off, but seems like I didn't. So anyway, I received a mail saying that $10 was paid off for renewing the domain. WTF. I don't understand how godaddy can take money from my paypal account at will, and paypal never consults before approving the transaction.

I know it's a petty amount, but's not right. I want to know if I open a dispute is there any chance paypal will return the money.

Don't open a Paypal dispute. Email GoDaddy asking for a refund.

Unlikely, GoDaddy probably has a tie up with PayPal for payment purposes and with you not turning off the auto-renew option, it means an implied (or explicit?) assent to having the money withdrawn directly from your account. Read the terms of service and trawl Google.

I don't think godaddy will issue a refund if I ask them. I think that domain was destined to lie unused another year. :p

Paypal don't handle situations where the goods is virtual, at the same time then it is your faulth that the domain was set to auto-renewal, if you can't proove that you set it to not-renew and GoDaddy have a glitch in their system, then you are help-less.

Call Godaddy and at least try to get a refund. I remember I had the same dilemma and I think they give you like 3 days to cancel or change your mind etc.

Better way is go to profile and looking for "pay list", then looking for godaddy and deactivate it. You will not have to pay for it again.

I don't think anything can be done now , consider that 10$ as lost.

Always cancel your terms from pay list, after registration your domain.
