My site www.paypal-poker.info is not getting any traffic from google although it is indexed. I need to know if paying for a dedicated ip will help in any way, I know there is a lot of competition with the words "paypal poker" but a competetor has managed to reach no2 on google for these keywords and my site is older! Thanks Tommy
Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think dedicated IP will boost your traffic. IMO you should try to get more links to your site toi increase your Search Engine Rankings. BTW: pagerank and traffic are not the same.
I have heard that getting a dedicated server can boost serps. It will certainly not impact your google pagerank, but that's not the only metric involved. I agree with the previous poster that getting (more, better, targeted) links to your site is going to also be necessary.
PageRank is based on URL's and not IP's, so getting a dedicated IP will have the same effect as being in a shared IP.
The only thing that a dedicated IP for a website will do is if you're interlinking websites. If the IP is different (I think) that Google will pass pagerank and weight for the link, but if two sites on the same IP are linking to eachother it would seem like it was the same owner, and the link would be worth less. It's not so much about Pagerank as it is simply the link.
Hi Travis, yes you are right. If you want to interlink two or more websites hosted on the same server, a dedicated IP will usually have an IP that differs from the ones your other domains have and that helps to avoid a filter.
Absolutely. A dedicated IP has been explained above, a dedicated server will have only your site on it & therefore will be much faster / can handle more traffic & therefore the SE's may apply a SLIGHT rankings boost.
More variety of backlinks ip's gives more strenght in total, but not for site which receives backlinks. From this point of view, ip has nothing to do (I think).
paying for dedicated ip will not help you get better page rank. it will help you to increase your uptime but not page ran
