Will pay someone to upgrade my Website

    Hi there,

I recently purchased http://cooktrix.com and to cut a long story short I would like to pay someone to do some renovations to it and to upgrade it to be more search engine friendly for me. As well as this I would like to set it up to include original content which I have lots and lots of (not just the RSS feeds - which I would also like to keep).

This article is also posted on another thread but it has been suggested that it also be posted here because I may need a programmer to do some of the work. I apologise in advance if this breaks any rules.

    My thoughts on the website:

    1) I would like to keep the current theme of the site eg colours etc and to keep the site user friendly and neat.

    2) Proper headers and sub headers to be added eg main heading etc etc.

    3) More content for home page (I have a nice written original article for this).

    4) Add two or three more photos (these and existing photos to have alt text added into them if possible - plus some alt text to the cooktrix logo at the top.

    5) If possible a site map made up for google.

    6) All the Directory items to be lined up a little better on the home page (as you can see at present that they are a little willy nilly).

    7) As I believe the search engines start reading from the right hand column and work their way over I would like to do something with the welcome box - not sure what I can do here (perhaps add content other than the welcome note).

    8) You might also advise me on this one! I have a lot of original recipes and cooking hints that have been handed down from my grandmother and mother that I would like to use as content as well as the rss feeds - is there some easy way of setting up seperate pages for these so I can easily add content to them also index them to the home page? - just thought that I would ask.

    9) I have a cooktrix blog, is there someway that we can include an obvious link to this? (ask people to contribute their own recipes, wine and cooking hints etc also just to use it for general chat.

    10) Also I wouldn't mind adding an Amazon affiliate banner at the bottom of the page but if you think this would be a lot of clutter please let me know.

    11) Perhaps we can add a cooking ebook in there somewhere?

Thats all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure that others will have lots more of their own suggestions.

Please keep in mind that I don't have bucketloads of cash to dish out but I'm not after charity and will pay a reasonable amount for the job to be done.

As I have been stung in the past (not on this site keep my fingers crossed) I will only accept genuine offers to upgrade the site from people with a high ranking and a good reputation.

I'm prepared to pay by Paypal on progress and satisfaction with the project but not upfront - this will help cover both parties involved in the transaction.

Suggestions, recommendations or a list of traders to avoid from long term posters to this site, would be more than helpful and appreciated.

Please pm me with an estimate, what you can do and any others suggestions you may have.

    Cheers Langleau.

i doubt im good enough to do what you want but i like the layout of your site my biggest tip would be for the colors at the top of the site. I dont care for the browns and the font color on them. I think that silver with a green or blue fill effect or blue or green with a silver fill effect would look awesome but im strange like that i like the fill effects.

something like this with maybe a lighter green or a light blue i dunno just an idea

    Hi there again,
Thanks to everyone that replied and quoted a price.
We have now picked someone to do the work for us.
I apologise to those that emailed directly - but because my main computer has crashed and I have lost your details I can't send a direct reply.
    Thanks again.
    Langleau.
