I dont think so that can happee. Ranking can change if your url changes and not server. Serps changes every day, something you gain and sometime you loss.

Rankings can and are very likely to change when your target market is the UK and shift to US hosting.

At least the rankings in google.co.uk will most likely change for the worse, as now you have a US IP address and therefore to Google it is not that obvious anymore that your target market is the UK.

General TLD are more likely to get hit by this, as with .co.uk domains it already is obvious that your market is the UK, but even then rankings may change for the worse.

My advice, keep looking for an UK hosting company with UK IP address, it really does make a difference!

It depends on the IP address of the server. But when the time passes your ranking is likely to come back.

Changing to a new server in itself doesn't affect rankings, but the server location can. Google uses geo-targeting and if you want to rank well in the UK, then your server should be located there. Moving to a US server will certainly affect UK rankings in google.

I dont think it will effect him. If someone using .co.uk then google is automatically selecting it for UK target. I think he is affected with google new update.

Of course not, it will not happen to lose your rank if you transfer your server. Who gave that idea?

I transfered hosting once 3 -4 years ago and saw a dramatic drop in traffic from SE - I would avoid it at all costs - just my opinion.

I once changed servers for my site and I lost all my site's rankings.

Anyway, I suggest you change server with the minimum down time. Try to do it as fast as possible.

If its from UK to US, then you'll probably see ranking down in Google UK and ranking up in Google US ;)

It wont derank you unless you really mess up the shift... like transferring the nameserver before setting up the site.

maybe some of your linking partners drop your hard links during the server move.
