Hi Tops30 i know you have mentioned it before in one of your posts. Is it true that when i target certain keywords with adwords and use the same landingpage as for my ads here on the coop my rankings will increase for that certain keyword?
I'd say the answer is absolutely not! On more than one occasion Google has said that there is no relationship whatsoever between AdWords and organic results. Given this -- and I for one (of, I'm sure, very many) believe it -- I can envisage no effect at all on the ranking of any keyword. If it does seem to occur, it can be no more than sheer coincidence. Definitely not! But Landing pages are just great for increasing your conversion on the ADWORD campaigns you are using.
What mrdjkcool says is absolutley true and can mahe a HUGE difference in conversion rate. If you have your Green Widget keyword drive traffic to you Green Widget page, you will see a noticable increase than if you were just driving traffic to the widget home page and then expecting the customer to find the green widgets on their own. On the keyword campaigns I manage, less than 5% of the keywords go just to the home pages; virtually all drill right into the category, subcategory, or product page of the keyword itself.
There is no link between adwords and the organic free search engine listings. But to succeed, both marketing vehicles work very well together.
