Will mass directory submission work to improve PR?

I have a site i would like to use for 3-way links exchanging. In order to be atractive for exchangers, I would like to have a PR4 or PR5. Does anyone have experience with mass directory submissions? I am only interested in getting a good PR and don't mind about having good SERPS for the site.

Not In My Opinion . You have to submit to QUALITY and RELEVANT sites.
QUALITY is much more important than QUANTITY today

It depends on the quality of the directory. If you are submitting to all PR-PR2 directories, I would say no. Also, it takes lots of time to be listed in these directories.

The question to ask (and to research) is this: will any of the directory inner pages on which you will be listed have any PR, or are they all predictably PR0?

P.S. I'm not jumping into the "how important (or not) is PR" debate, just answering your question.
