    Hello guys,

I am trying to rank for competitive term which is the main term in my niche. When I googled that term, I found 365 Million results. There is a site ranks #20, put a Pixel map, and offer anyone to buy each pixel for 1$. You have to buy 100 pixels at least...

My question, DO you think search engines will count a link from an image that is 10*10 pixels as a link ?

    Let me know please..

    Thanks

Save your money, don't buy the link. Image links are treated differently than text links, and this type of site is sure to have been flagged by google - which is in a big anti-paid links mode right now.

Google flags this type of site from passing authority - meaning your link will have little or no value. If someone reports you as buying links, you can get a penalty. Buying links is always a risk, but if you're going to do it, at least make sure the link is in content text and that the site isn't obvious about selling links. You're wasting your money if you buy a link from that site (unless it will bring you direct traffic) - but it's your call. Pixel sites had their time - about 2 years ago.

Also, you need to check how many people actually search for a keyword (http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/), not how it ranks out of millions of results. A #20 ranking isn't going to bring much traffic in any event.

I think link from image is also counted as backlinks. It is also link but the differences is, you use the image as your link.
