at the last 3 days I found liberty reserve is unaccesible and I can log to my account there to take out my money,so far I enjoy there securiy layer and there "trust with there secure mcafee,however since there is not enough information concern this issue,will do you think liberty reserve will be ended up like egold did?
I think Liberty Reserve will continue to be a competitive digital currency. I think the need is there and they doing fine. There website is back to normal. I accessed it yesterday. Just it is a system upgrade which seems took them much longer time than they anticipated. e-gold faced the problem because of US government filed a low case against them but e-gold as a business was very strong as a digital currency.
LR always looked good to me, although I didn't use them for almost a year or so... need to check them again...
Liberty Reserve is a Costa Rican company. I don't know what "backed by USD reserve" means but they are not licensed, backed, or guaranteed by any government agency or the FDIC. If they go under you have no recourse to collect your balance.
