Of course it makes sense :) That's the whole idea about article directories.

Submit your article to various article directories and hopefully it will be picked up by other webmasters and you will get more exposure to your website.

    Go for it.

Definitely makes sense. Increase your exposure and raise your linkpop.

BTW Edz, sweet avatar :D Reminds me seeing Maiden for the first time at Manchester Apollo, UK when I was 14.

I have seen a different view point several times, but I am not sure it is fully justified
    In summary:
    - do not submit an article that is already in your web site to reputable web sites (the logic is : reputable web sites will not want to take your article)
    - do not submit an article to article directories if it is already in your web site (your links are likely to be ignored by SE because of duplication)
    - do not submit an article to more than 10 article directories (the logic is: at most SE will consider only one or two links, so do not waste your time)

I do not pretend these practices are the 'best practices'.

Personally, I think it is better to post articles 'the old way', that is: write a good article and submit it to reputable web sites in your field, not to article directories. Many sites are desperate for content and it is likely to be published. It will be related to your niche and will bring some valuable traffic. The traffic generated by article directories is 99% webmasters and will bring little or nothing to your own web site (unless your niche is webmaster of course)

    Any comment or suggestion ?

I think this holds no truth since websites like digg or fark or shoutwire are reputable and hold their grounds on the web and are build for people submitting thier articles.

And why would other ''reputable'' websites not be interested in your article? If it's interesting to them they will place the article.

About the duplicate content issue...maybe your right and maybe not since i do recall G making certain decissions on these type of directories regarding duplicate content. Since they are directories G would not considder this as duplicate.

I could be very well wrong here but i think G can filter that and disregard this when placed in directories. Also other websites that put out news stories have their articles published on countless other websites and they are not being penalized for this.
