Will it increase my google ranking

    Hi, i have a question.

Say i have a site and i recently bought a site. How about if i 301 permanently redirect that newly bought site to my old site.

Will it increase my old sites google ranking? Backlinks, PR juice. Or it'll affect my site's PR in negative way.

    Please help.

    Thx.

I believe your system will likely increase your ranking. I have a feeling that your old website's PR also contributes.

Yes it sure will help the rankings of new website because you are telling crawler to follow the new URL instead of the old one. 301 is the best method to redirect a website from one website to the other. It might take some time for crawler to recognize your new URL.

    Old site's PR is 1 (PR1)

And i'm goin to redirect a bought site to my old site, not from old to new.

Bought site is PR1 too and has backlinks.

hmm, if your new website is in the same niche, and you are referring to your website in the 'link list' (wordpress widgets), I guess it will help you :) Personally, I have a business model like this:

One major website in a big niche, for example Fitness. Ten posts in ten different areas of fitness.
ten small websites, with three blog posts about one area of fitness, pointing back to my big website.

The example is only for inspiration. I hope it helps :)
