If we join Adsense or Adword programs from Google, will it improve SERP for our site?

Anyone with experience on this? Let's share...

    No I dont think so.

I think it will get you indexed faster and so google will scrape your site and know all about you but it will not rank you better.

Ranking is your content, links in, anchor text, and themed sites pointing to you.

Ranking may also have to do with visitor behavior so maybe its good to have analytics on the site if your visitors stay awhile and interact well.

I definitely advise it and more here http://www.omg-1.com

AdSense code is in Javascript, so it shouldn't effect your rankings either way (search engines don't process Javascript), although I recall Joel Comm saying that when he swicthed to YPN over AdSense, his rankings in google dropped temporarily until he returned back to AdSense (who knows, it's just a story, but still...),in general I would assume it won't make any difference.

Nope, but Adwords gives you big traffic by temporarily putting your site in the top of the result pages. Meaning, Adwords expires and can be activated by paying it again.

    I was wondering this aswell

I mean obviously it doesn't pass through pr/serp ranking like a link, but it kinda seems like google has a bias for adwords users

Can't say much about about Adwords - it won't help and don't push your site down - however I think Adsense can do bad to your site, if your site is definitely MFA. But only joining to the program will not change anything in your serp.

There is anecdotal evidence that signing up for AdWords or AdSense can get your site indexed faster, but I've also seen some evidence that sites that have been penalized get the penalty removed faster once they sign up for something that makes Google money.

I'm in the process of collecting some case studies on this and will be posting on my blog about it in the near future.

But no, it won't help your rankings at all.

I had this opinion of "Of course not" as well but now I have seen it practically that it could be helpful, my further studies made me think that it could be helpful if your site becomes famous, alot of peoples know your site than there are chances that some peoples will create a backlink for your site(some might stumble your site etc..resulting backlink), that will be "natural backlinks" that will help you in better SERP.

The above statement is for adwords only. Hope it make sense is quite acceptable, give your comments here or in reps or via PM.
