Good question. Probably why it's a good idea to constantly add good bad links.

If your site is in a competitive niche, I'd say very likely.

Their are other factors that are just as strong, and some even stronger, in generating SERP / Google PageRanks.

Although losing a strong backlink may bring you down, you should be able to bring yourself right back up again by submitting fresh content to directories, pinging your blogs and, ultimately, beating the system.

    BEAT THE SYSTEM! :)

Best-of-luck to you! Hopefully you can bring your rank to SKYROCKET much farther than your previous pagerank could even fathom. =)

It may effect your ranking depending on your niche market also depending on how many links you actually have in total.

I don’t think so. It will affect your PR though and traffic coming from the link. SERP is more towards ranking achieved through SEO optimization and use of keywords.

It depends on how competitive your niche is, if you try adding more quality content to your site and try submitting it to directories you may be ok.

SERPs are updated much more than PR. You should notice a drop in SERPS very soon if this link had a big impact on your website.

Your backlink contract is going to end? try to proceed it! I think SE discovers when a site looses strong links...I would care about it...
