Will i get some profit if i create a link directory and then sell it ?

I am thinking about 3 days now to start my own directory. But i don't know if it will have success and be profitable ! Ok, so the first investment is is domain name and hosting. That's ~5$/month. After that is the directory itself, about $50 dollars (i want esyndicat), that makes 50$+10$-first year domain name+5$. So, i start with -65 ... What should i do next ?
1) Free Promote it using what free methods exist out there ?
2) Just sell it for an even number ?
Other Questions :
3) How much does it worth with no PR and no visitors ?
4) If i free promote it 2 hours/day, how long will it take to make it profitable ?

PS : I already have the design done, just the coding remaining. :|

Just tell about your new directory to directory submission service holders that are available in their list and they might add you to their database....make the acceptance rate very high initially and also the user interface more easy to access,If you do that I am sure you will get more no of urls to make up a good directory,after sometime you can offer reciprocal links and featured links for a small amount.....Also submit your directory to bookmarking sites which is another source for getting very good traffic.... Let's just say directorys are not very profitable

You must invest a lot of money and work very very hard

 

Its better if you develop it for some time and sell..since u can atleast say that u have this many urls in your directory even though you dont have a PR....That would at least fetch you some good $$

Yes you can....but you have to work extremely hard for reaching that status
