Will I be?

    Will I be penalized for building a sitemap and robot.txt file if my site has been online for 7 years and is already ranked in the top 1-2 of google with over 160 keywords? Will this help or hurt my site?

    Hi,
    I think building a sitemap is not anyway depreciated by Google although it is a good thing if you have a sitemap. Robot.txt is a file that contains a list of pages that the webmaster doesn’t want indexed by a search engine spider.
