Will hostgator hurt ?

I have used godaddy for a long time now and I just recently discovered hostgator and their unlimited domain hosting plans. Right now I'm paying a lump sum to godaddy for all the sites I have hosted with them. So my plan is to move everything over to hostgator.
My question is will this in anyway hurt my sites to be hosted on the same plan. I know that the linking back and forth from one site to the other won't benefit me since the sites all will be located on the same server/ip but they probably were already doing that with godaddy.

So if I choose to make 50 blogs each with their separate domain and host them all on one account it's fine and won't hurt the sites ? Or if I chose to make 50 adsense sites on one account everything is fine ? I just want to make sure before I make the move.

Sorry mods/admins if I posted this in the wrong category I couldn't find out which one it should be.

Hosting all sites on one host is perfectly fine. There is no problem of any kind.

You can link between your site, if that is for the benefit of the users.

Personally I would not interlink sites. Temptation is always to use do follow anchor and this is a good way of getting a penalty

As long as your sites are not against the Hostgator's TOS then you are fine :)

I'd worry more about the structure of the interlinking than them being on the same server. If your sites are spammy, then they will find them all from your linking and it may hurt them like that. But, if they are good content filled sites, with logical linking patterns, you should be fine.

No SEO issue so long as you do not over do interlinking between your sites.

There is no any problem with moving to another host... just make sure it got all you want.

    HostGator is a good host.

    Hi,

I don't think there is any problem. Some web hosts allow one to host multiple domains and sub-domains under one web hosting plan.

I think HostGator offers unlimited addon domains as well so it's perfectly alright to host as many websites as you want as long as it does not violate TOS or use too much CPU (since you're on a shared server, right?)

Just an FYI, I had a hostgator account awhile back with over 75 domains on one account and got my account suspended until I removed "nodes" (files). They have unlimited space...not really. You have to be within 50,000 nodes I think. Anyhow, I had to delete a bunch of files.

I just ended up moving all the sites to a VPS. It was a long overdue process.

there is no problem with SEO, however, keep in mind that hostgator allows you to add unlimited "add-on" domains.

they are all under your main domain name.

the only problem I have found with this is that some scripts will not work correctly in some cases.

for instance, if a script has some sort of automatic ftp/upload type of thing built in to it, then it may not work.

That is not a reason to not use hostgator, just something to be aware of. It is not like having WHM to create completely different accounts for each domain name ( like a reseller account ).

I have a Hostgator reseller account and I set-up all my blogs on different domains. Then interlink each blog using a reciprocal linking process.

Shouldn't be any problems. I've been using hostgator for years and I've never had a problem. And I've never had a problem with their affiliate program either. I haven't made huge sales with them, but they always send me payments on time.

I have been using hostgator since march 09 and they have always been on point. This is the best host I have ever used by far.

And there is no problem hosting all the sites on one server, I host 5 different sites on mine. Just don't interlink them.
