Will hits to my subdomain improve Alexa of main domain?

I have various subdomains, will they contribute to improve the alexa of main domain?

This is a good question, I have been doing some testing on a couple of my subdomains to see the impact on my root domain.
As of now, I do not have enough data to properly analyze. But it is looking like an active subdomain is boosting my root domains stats.
