    Dipesh,

Higher PR Directory is always better for every site either new or old.

but it must be FREE and Quality Directories which you are doing submissions for your Business website.

You can use Below site , there is lots of lists for Free sites.

    directorycritic.com/free-directory-list.html

Nice lists... but the question if that helps... By the way it helps in some manner... but indirectly because this quality directories are backlinks which is only one factor of SERPs...:p

Back links from sites related to your niche will help most and solid anchor text.

    cheers

another thing to add, is i think its not just the high pr on the front page, i think what helps the most is the page with a high PR where your link is at.

if your link is on a page with pr0 but the front page is high pr then it only helps with getting indexed faster. But thats just my opinion based on my experience and observations.

There are only two ways to obtain PR, increase the links with PR to your site or create more pages within your site.

But one of the most important concepts missed by many is not having an internal link back to the home page. Each page must have a "feed back" link to the "primary domain".

I use the copyright notice to do this. It increases the PR of our clients that have a PR 1 or 2 site to ~ 4.

Getting a good SERP have many factors. High PR site is only a good backlinks and it is a part or a factor of a good SERP.

its true that PR has nothing to do with its SERP position but it does help with same site links, in other words your PR of your index will certainly "weigh in heavy" on out bound links the index points to on the same site.

but to answer the OP question. PR has to do with page age and inbound links. the inbound links(with anchor) PR rank has a direct effect on your sites PR, directory or not.
