Hi! I have a question about back links counting from Google.

Will Google won't count back links that derive from sites with being full of spamming comments?

If the pages have high PR, google will probably count the backlinks. If you are building links through blog posting, try to find pages which don't have too many comments yet.

It'll still count them, but they won't be worth as much value if there are a lot of links on the page.

Nowadays, blog commenting is like 'spamming' so Google will stop counting backlinks anytime soon ... I don't really think that blog commenting is effective because 1) Your name must look like actual name so it might not be good for your keyword; 2) If your name is your keyword then it is obvious spam.

Why is the advice given here always like 3 years out dated? does information take that long to travel to india via the interwebz?

If you want to build great back links, build better content that people will link to. If you want average almost worthless back links, use blog commenting, and silly wastes of time like that.

If those pages were full of comments plus having links to garbage websites, then I doubt if Google would count them as links anyway. Google does count every links but does filter low quality links altogether. That's why quality does matter over quantity when it comes to link building, especially with Google.

What about links from signatures in forum posts?
Do these have any value as links in Mr Google's eyes?

I assume people do think that they are a little valuable.
Otherwise, why would this thread exist?

Excuse me if I answer my own question.
People might post here if they feel that people are looking at and clicking on their backlinks.
Or they might post here as a way of feeling part of a community.
People might be here and participating as research and learning.

I think all of this is true but it's mostly justified in people's mind by thinking that with each post, you get a tiny bit more link juice from your signature?

    What do you think?

You are right, but I would really advice to put all the these in one post, specifically when you have something to say in just the next three minutes, heheh :D

Mostly its better not to get any backlinks from the sites which seem to look like spammy or filled with unnecessary comments.
