Will Google punish me?

I went from my site to that I have a backlink with and while I was there clicked on a google ad - will I be banned? Should I get in touch and tell them? How long is it before they notify me? It was a innocent click - the advert really interested me - should I save this for Google?

one click will do nothing. but if you do it often there are chances to get banned.

Thanks for your prompt replies - I feel better about this. How long does it take for them to get in contact though? Cheers everyone, I've beed a DC memver for a couple of years now and it's help like this that make it very worthwhile. I'm getting sentimental on a public forum!

Let me understand what you are saying - You mean you went to another site that has a backlink to your site - and then clicked on the ad present on that site? And I assume that site belongs to you

Whatever the scenario a single click is fine ( i.e if you were actually interested in it - remember u r costing money to the advertiser) - but if you want to clarify with them email them : adsense-support @ google . com

No, I do not own the site that I clicked the ad on. I've had contact with the site's owner professionally though and promoted his site from my site. My site, the one I clicked from doesn't have google ads - but my blogs do.

Just One Single Click Made in Mistake will not lead you to suspension. It would be in case you had repeated clicks from the same IP.

please don't panic, as this is a commo problem. one click will not do you any harm, and you are i no need to notify them. just make sure that similar thing do not happen in future.

i see few people answered without even reading your question carefully. you DIDN'T click on your own ad, you clicked on the ad of another site where you THINK you are having a backlink from. there's nothing to be worried about

I was thinking the same thing while reading the replies here.

If it is not your site or adsense account that you clicked on then there's nothing to be worried about. If for some reason there is a problem Google will be contacting the person who owns the adsense account you clicked on. But there's no reason for Google to do that. You'd have to sit there doing multiple clicks on your buddies ads before you get Google's attention.
