Would G penalise you for having a list of keywords at the bottom of your page? I don't want to use a massive list, just between 5 and 10. Example: A page about widgets Then at bottom: "Keywords: widgets, blue widgets, red widgets, green, widgets, white widgets" Thanks MK
It depends I think. If your site is themed around widgets, the "blue widgets, red widgets, green, white widgets" links at the bottom is just fine. Just don't go overboard. If your site is not themed around widgets, I would not use that kind of bottom links, as they are clearly out of context. In that case, best to have your links in your body text, in relevant context.
Thanks for the reply It is actually a directory and will print the keywords for each category viewed at the bottom of the page.
will out debating about penalization in this case , i will like to say that it really doensot matter much
I would agree with robo - won't matter much either way, but what's the point of a list of keywords? If they were links to pages about those keywords then it would be effective and useful.
It doesn't matter. Google will treat each as a seperate keyphrace. You are safe. Hint: Too much use of anything is no goooooood.
I agree with all of the above, and I also think it's important to include your page's main keywords at the very end of the page. By "main keywords", I mean the primary keyword or keyword phrase for the page. The number of keywords you listed probably won't hurt you in the SERPs, but it may not help much more than just using your main keywords, either. Sam
