Will Google+ make it?

There's no shortage of judgment when it comes to parsing the chances of Google+, and with the technologies now, there’s about to be a lot more, particularly in terms of whether it has what it takes to go face to face Facebook.

    The results
In reviewing the results, in many feedback we receive the most common focused on fort main areas:
    • Circles: members liked the ability to set up their own criteria for circles rather than depending on preset categories.
    • Navigating other users' circles: While members liked the circle concept when it came to setting up their own circles, they found that navigating other people's circles could be confusing.
    • Finding, adding, and inviting friends: members across the whole testing pool always rated the process of finding, adding, and inviting friends as difficult, particularly if they didn't have their friends already organized in a Gmail account.
    • Google+ raison d'être: members were indistinct on whether Google+ was different enough from Facebook that it would make sense to have accounts with both services. Or, if they were to choose just one service, they were not able to decide as to whether Google+ presented mainly compelling advantages that would make switching away from Facebook worthwhile.

    Recommendations and conclusion
The origin of this study was investigative, rather than decisive. With this, we can develop some initial suggestions to what it will take to attract everyday "non-techie" users.

Based on the insights we receive, Facebook experience is not enough, so Google+ would need to create a specific complementary function to Facebook, or be so much better asa social networking site, that it provides more advantage to invest into new social media site or using both.

It's a high bar, and at the moment Google+ doesn't quite have enough air based on our initial exploratory testing. That being said, it's still quite early in the game. And of course on the Google+ end, there is this Hangout capabilities and probably several other new developments waiting.

I have found some difficulties in creating the page for the app I've created.

It's true that Google+ needs to upgrade itself to a certain extent, add some simple guidelines at least for newly-introduced features. That'd be nice.

I dоn't ѕeе failure herе аt all. FB wіll stіll bе around, extended families and people loоking fоr long-lost classmates will keeр it going for а long time to come. But thе waу people communicate is changing, just likе the way we gеt our news аnd information іѕ changing. FB іs рrоbably nоt ablе to change muсh beуond іt'ѕ current basic foundation. Hopefully G+ wіll provide us wіth the nеxt level оf web socialization. I wеlcоmе аnd embrace change - life would bе rеаllу boring if nothіng changed. I'm ready tо ѕее whаt'ѕ next. And thеn whаt'ѕ next after that, and sо on. Right now, G+ hаs mоrе options thаt appeal tо mе than FB iѕ offering, аnd I'm having fun exploring it all.

I was wondering the same thing! I signed up thru an invite and it seems that since then that very few people have signed on that I know of. Seems people are still using FB as much as ever. I wonder if there may be a shift in the future, but I feel right now that people are just liking having only one social network. Multiple networks and juggle a handful could get overbearing for some. I like the Google + format much better than FB, especially the circles and managing them is easy. I did read somewhere that Google only wanted to add a social network for the sole purpose of learning more about the people that use the Google search engine, etc. We really only have to worry when FB starts a search engine. ; )

I still hope Google + makes more traction in my circle of friends.

When it comes to popularity of Google+, now the feature of official business profiles (Google+ Pages) available is great apart from its social networking feature.

But it lacks in contests and polls options. Hope it will be added soon.

I like the way you can create your own circles , to be able to share info with a specific group but I still find Google + more complicate than Facebook. I hope they manage to make it more use friendly

When compared to Facebook, Google has done a better job in thinking out of the box of social networks. Facebook lacks in Voice/Video chat when compared to the the Hangout feature in Google Plus.

I think now FB has to look for this!!

Of course, if it's willing to resist the competition, if I'm not mistaken it has already introduced new video chat feature

Facebook took 3 years and more to build their reputation and users. We don't expect that within few months Google will be able to compete Facebook. But its Google and they are no.1 in the world. So anything can be possible.
