Technology companies come and go, disruptive technologies is all around us. A few years ago who would have guessed that Netscape holding 90% plus of the browser would be superseded by IE? Possibility definitely but who is anyone's guess.

A better one will come. Who would have know Yahoo would be dethroned afew years ago? This industry is changing so quickly, we'll never know for sure.

Nothing is eternal, they are the best now, but that doesn't mean they are the best forever. They do not own the market as much as you think.

Google dominates for a good reason they pick up on every other search engines mistakes. mix that with a little research on what users are looking for and they come out with the coolest apps.

The best part they provide it all for free, not a bad deal if your an internet user these guys are giving you everything.

Yahoo and Microsoft can make Google's life very hard, but only if they use the right strategy.

I hope that Microsoft-Yahoo merger goes through, and I hope that YPN will then be quickly improved upon so that we have an alternative to Adsense. Also a competitor to Google would ensure that Google treats its advertisers and publishers better both in contract terms and monetary terms. It is a Win Win that no Search Engine company dominates.

Yes, for the technologies advancement we need free competitiveness at the market without dominance figures. Now Google is sole dominant, and how long it will last, noone can guess, but all we know that it is not eternal. It is inadmissible to stand still and wait what will happen with "web of the future". I think that the internet users shout take control and create it themselves.

Most will go down, but if you delve deep into strategic technological innovations, it is possible for some extremely great tech companies to jump S curves and emerge as leaders of the new technologies as well, but this is certainly not easy and few had such foresight.

I think that Google will not go down in future, it will just become one of several popular and good search engines at the market, not the sole one as now.
