It is unpredictable but for socializing facebook is still the best. Google is only for business promotions.
Sooner or later, G+ will be the top social network. In fact, I closed my FB account a couple of months ago...
I'm surprised no one has mentioned YouTube yet. Google is working very hard on integrating YouTube with Google+. YouTube is a huge social network in its own right with an active user community. If they can successfully bring that over to Google+, the future is bright for Google.
g+ can not beat facebook as facebook is a friendly community and social media and people get more interest in using facebook.
Some are saying that with the introduction of Google Plus Communities, G+ is going to "take off".. I'm not sure about that but I think it's going to help. The truth is that until grandma starts using G+ (like she uses Facebook), it's just not going to be as popular. Also, FWIW, i've just start using G+ and I find it confusing and overwhelming.. Facebook is simpler == more people will use Facebook.
Resistance is futile. Everyone participating here is tracked by google in either case. Only a matter of time until something awful like G plus begins to seem "good"
Sure, I've heard that one before with Myspace until something hit them: http://www.techradar.com/news/internet/facebook-more-popular-than-myspace-398833 All social networks eventually get replaced by something else.
Nothing lasts forever - Myspace is a good example.. So far I dont see anything threatening Facebook other than people just getting sick/bored of it. I don't think Google Plus will be able to knock it down.
I don't see gplus as a plausible candidate. However, google as whole is the next big thing social network. Think about it: - gmail as 423 million active users: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gmail - youtube gets 800 million unique viewers per month: http://www.youtube.com/t/press_statistics - android with 300 million users and getting close to million at each day that passes: http://www.technofierce.com/andy-ru...ations-and-450000-apps-in-android-market-2351 - plus is said to have 500 million active (I don't give much trust in this number): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google+ - Search, Chrome, Drive, ... I see Android as the next social network, not gplus. Android users consume everything google and they grow at an amazing speed. If facebook brought Farmville to the masses, android brings the play market to everyone's pocket (regardless of how much money you keep in your pocket). On android devices, things like gmail, gtalk and gplus are always online and available. People use them extensively throughout the day, not just on google sites but elsewhere across the web they already participate in the google social network without really noticing all these things going on.
Great of you.. care to justify? Otherwise I just reply: "Yes they will!" And then you reply: "Not a chance!" And then I reply: "Yes they will!" And then you reply: "Not a chance!" Do you start to see a pattern here or "not a change!" ?
My favorite is G+ as it facilitates the user more than FB and the craze of FB is now have been decreased as the people feel bore and want to see new thing like G+ where they can enjoy a lot. Despite its failings Google is heavily pushing Google+, in light of this, having Google+ tags is essential to help boost rankings. Google is going to look favorably on sites that are promoting its platform.
There is every possibility. Google+ is quite new in market in comparison to Facebook or twitter. By the passage of time there is every possibility for Google+ to compete FB.
