Will google drop these pages when it sees they are not there and re-index

    Hi all, I just migrated my site from joomla 1.0.14 to 1.5 so all my hyperlinks have now changed.

    But they show up in the google index and when clicked become 404 errors.

    Will google drop these pages when it sees they are not there and re-index the new ones? And how long does this take?

    I'm creating the new sitemap now.

    Should I do anything else?

    Yes they will drop them. I use to have articles in my site that have incorrect A HREF, and google point them as 404 errors when submitting my sitemap, but after correction, some time after (everything takes a lot of time to happen with google), they stop appearing in the web crawl diagnostic list.
