Not really. As long as your content still related to your site's topic.

nope it works the other way - content may help your PR increase. Just make sure your keywords are only "tweaked" and not hacked as your traffic will be affected

If it is relevant content then there is no problem... But it is better to upload upto 3000 words in a page...

There is some limit in Google's cache for one page. It was 101k but don't know how is this year.
If the page was bigger than the limit, it has been truncated, so the end of the page was not indexed.
But 101k of text is almost a small book ( we don't count pictures here).

Well I don't see why more pages would lower your ranking unless those are stolen content.

No, unless your content differs from your website's niche. Such as adding health content on a page thats about search engines. They're irrelevant subjects, ya?

Look at it this way, go to some nasa pages or medical sites and see how long there pages are and there pr.
It doesnt matter how long your page is, you can put a full website on one page, search engines read left to right top to bottom and only worry about the content, not the length, now if your keywords get to saturated on the page I would think that this would hurt, but if we go back to nasa or any other well backlinked page it doesnt hurt them.

well now a days content is important. plus it gives you a lot of liberty to optimize your website for seo. but then you have to seen whether the bulky content is ok with the design cause if you are boring the visitor then although may get a good rank in google, people may find your website very boring and that may be the exact opposite of what you wanted.... :p
check the web 2.0 style websites. they give importance to content...
a lot of text plus good and images used very wisely.

You must try not to add bad neighborhood links, you have different sites to check if they are bad or not
