Just built some links for a client ...
Some of the sites have IP's like : 66.116.229.172 and 66.116.229.178..

Will google count them as same IP's ?

It is the C-class of the IP that google looks at.

from my personal experiance i linked 1st website to 2nd site
and after the PR update 1st site got a page rank of 3 :) because the site linking to it was a PR4, both sites on same server xx.xxx.xxx.xxx

and i think google sees the links from domains view instead of IP's may be iam wrong though!

I am not talking of PR .. PR is a different ball game all together ... Basically what clients want is ranking from the links ... and if google sees links from same ip (not sure wether same ip or same c class ip) then it will give less weitage to them. :)

Doesnt matter to me but does matter to the client :p

And we work till 100 % satisfaction of clients so will have to replace all same C class IP links and will take care of it in future :)

I doubt Google gives any levity to sites from the same Class C network. Given that a great many SEO's are located at theplanet/rackspace/evi, etc., and other places there would be a lot of false positives generated.

You have a valid point there ... but these companies do offer unique Ip at an additional cost.. but i dont know if they offer Unique C Class IP's also ...
I just bought a hosting today and paid a hefty amount for aorund 50 different IP's

Sure they do, as do we. However, they are still going to be located in a netblock that is not necessarily unique. I have my own IP space from ARIN, so even those SEO's the host with me are going to find they can get a unique, IP, but chances are it will be in a netblock that has other SEO's.

Anyway, why would they just signle out a Class C? What not a B, or the whole A? I just do not see that as being weighted heavily into the equation.

How much did you pay out of curiosity?

Ok, I was just curious. I am always curious if we are competitive. We tend to be around $10/mo per if it is a single. Full pricing is as follows:

/29 (8IP) $15.00/mo.

/28 (16IP) $30.00/mo.

/27 (32IP) $45.00/mo.

/26 (64IP) $60.00/mo.

/25 (128) $80.00/mo.

/24 (256) $100.00/mo.

What i said was correct. Google looks at networks of sites as being on the same C-Class ip. There are many tools out there to check this.
