Hi I manage up some casino, pharmacy ads on adwords but will google close my account if they see it? or will they just disable my ads? Thanks
Running ads for those types of sites are against the TOS. If you are not going to play by the rules, why shouldn't they close the account?
Google will not close your Account... Your Ads will be stopped or disapproved.. http://www.praveenkodur.com/blog/2007/07/pay-per-click-ppc-marketing-india/
I'm getting mixed answers here. Anyone who has experience in advertising it? Actually, I see some people advertising it on adwords as well... and it seems they've been doing it for a while already.
If it is against the TOS, why would you risk it? Adwords is a little less strict than Adsense so I believe they warn you first than they ban your account. However, they do not refund your money for the clicks that already happened. I am not sure at all why you would want to risk it though.
Good rate of return I guess, I put a campaign together for a gambleing site where I was limited on the copy I could use in my ad therefore not included keywords. I spent £20 and got a return from the site of £400, problem is I had my ad's stopped twice, the second ad ran for 2 weeks (this accounted for 90% of the return) but thought that if I kept up Google would be pissed off and ban my account.
One thing to try if you cant get the keywords to pass through the ad copy is to just use {Keyword} where you want it to appear, that way, none of your "disallowed" keywords are showing up in your original ad copy. So for gambling, if it is not letting it pass you can do something like {KeyWord} Love {Keyword} we do to {keyword} rocks!
Not true. While Yahoo and MSN review each ad manually, Google ads go live automatically unless they are flagged with specific keywords. Pharmacy-related ads are automatically caught and cannot be posted without a PharmacyChecker ID (see http://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=7464 ). Gambling related keywords in ads (including terms such as "bonus" will also be automatically flagged in the system, and a warning will be displayed.
Nice idea don't think I tried that one, the ad's got passed the automted copy/keyword checker but picked up i guess by the human eye?
