You need to build your links at a normal pace. Excessive linking can lead to your site getting banned by the search engines. Instead of submitting your site to hundreds of low ranking directories you can opt for the top directories which will get you quality back links. :)

Bloody hell. You should try and get around 5 links per day MAXIMUM, unless your site is like 5 years old and is already very stable in the SERPS. But even then you don't want to be getting more 50/day.

Don't do everything at once, do normal and links should be natural.

Google won't ban your site for sure if you can always keep up the tempo of link building..

This is so NOT true!

Many here are telling that you may get banned by fast linkbuilding but this is based on nonsense. Nobody of them have real experience with getting banned by this cause so nobody can tell you to get banned by fast linkbuilding!!!!

There is 1 simple reason why Google won't ban sites who get links very fast. The reason is that some sites are hyped, which means that in a very short period people think it is totally amazing and people begin linking like grazy to such site massively. Some of these sites get more links per day than you can achieve with linkbuilding on one day.And their pagerank increase rapidly.

Why won't Google ban such sites? Because it is natural. Getting overhyped is natural too. And then getting forgotten may also be fast.

So what I am trying to say is that it is nonsense to thing you will get banned by link building. Linkbuilding companies can confirm that, and these guys do link building all the day. This sort of companies would be bankrupt by now if you all were right.

sort of something which goes on my mind..
coz, there are thousands and thousands of users who hire people/services for dir sub, social book sub, other link building daily.. not only in this forum but also on thousands of other webmaster forums..

and i dont think all of them get banned..
but still, when it comes to seo, people say "build links in a natural way" which i dont get quiet right..

 MG.. i wonder which way to choose..

With natural they mean on the way you would also get links when SEO didn't exist. That also means that your links come from other sources more related to your site. By letting it look natural you try to imitate the natural process by obtaining link from related sites and try to get links with text around it which cover the same subject as your site do.

E.g. A link from within a blog post with the same subject as your site and the anchor text looks natural. A link from an unrelated link farm doesn't.

    Something to ad:
Actually slow link building to directories is even not "natural" because everybody is doing it fast haha. (but that's not my point.)

The best way to build links naturally is by stimulating word of mouth. To let the message fo viral so people will link to you. There is a book about that "Word of mouth Marketing" written by Andy Sernovitz. A good book to start with to get more knowledge in how to do that. I recommend the book because there are not many people writing about that on the internet.
