i started a site just before a few weeks.. i bought a dir sub on 1000 sites.. now im planning to do social bookmarking on all my internal pages.. will G ban my site if it gains so many links all of a sudden?? im a newbie in this field.. any help would be appreciated.. thanks
Essentially yes. It will raise a red flag and Google will look into it, see you "cheating" (in their opinion) and penalize you.
If you're manually submitting links you don't have anything to worry about; Google only *may* discount your links if you receive thousands in an unnatural way (like via an autobot forum submission software to 10,000 forums in 1 day). Google probably will never even notice the 1,000 directory links you bought; those services are usually worthless and not indexed by Google.
1000 directory submissions + lots of social bookmarks for a new site will most likely get you sandboxed. You need slow and steady link building.
Already you have committed the mistake of submitting your site to 1000 directories at a time. Don't do another mistake of bulk submitting to SB sites. You can wait for one more week and start working at least one per day. Do you know- slow and steady wins the race?
yeah.. i get it.. but will it matter if we've done all those before google indexes our site? btw, i like your avatar
Offer something useful and you should get links naturally. If you are looking for links that you can build that should have a positive affect without facing a negative response from the engines, then head to the directories, but know that many of the best ones are paid. These artificial links will most likely be negatively affect your bookmarking account and pass your site no value or get your site sandboxed or banned.
You shouldn't be building links that fast. All you can do is hope that google doesn't find them all at once!
I spammed yahoo answers and other sites with links to my internal pages and now they dont show up in serps.
Try to gain links for your site in a natural way. Do everything manually. Avoid buying links since it is not appreciated by search engines.
