Hi, i am a web developer. I want some images for my website. So i browsed some images using google image search. I downloaded the file to my local disk and i renamed the file and i used it in my website. is this illegal? or will google ban my account for using other websites images
Not sure whether google will ban your account because it's actually a rampant practice. To make it safe, just give credit and link back to the source of where the image is taken from. This will remove all doubts and issues related to copyright images.
lycos are you sure that ,If i give a credit to the website from which i have taken the images google will not ban my account. I Searched querycat about this. And saw answer that, "You have to put a disclaimer . What is disclaimer ?
How about this: Ask the owner of the site that you wish to use the images from, offer to give credit and a linkback and there is a good chance that he will say yes. A (truthful) "Used with Permission" caption by the image does wonders to avoid copyright issues.
