Will gambling content hurt blog search engine ranking?

    Will gambling content hurt blog search engine ranking?
    I heard from a friend that writing gambling or online casino reviews will hurt blog search engine ranking, is that true?
    If that is true, how to protect my blog?

    I think so. You should not have gambling, porn types of content unless your website is in that niche.

    I've tested pretty much all the themes discussed in this thread and I can tell you for a fact that they don't hurt rank unless you have a spam blog. If you are a real blog that does legitimate reviews for a few sites, it's not a problem. I've had a few WoW blogs which reviewed poker casinos, actual ones I played on (not paid posts) and it actually increased my traffic/authority and even BLs as the casino actually linked-back to the post (PR6).

    The truth is that theme and content go hand in hand, that's why general blogs always have banning problems. You can have a blog all about viagra (for example) and have 1000 pages talking about viagra, but if it's REAL content , real information and real help to the users, you will always be a success in the ranking. On the other hand, just spamming the hell out of a blog will not get you far no matter what theme you're in.
