If you are asking in terms of number of members registering, then I would say a big NO. Because here you are comparing a social media networking site with a search engine provider. And well this is THE most important and number one search engine til date. So I guess its impossible.
No Idea! May be facebook could overtake Google coz possibilities there, just imagine about yahoo. it was on first position but as of now it placed on no 4th. So in the world of internet everything is possible.
These statistics can sometimes be pretty misleading. First of all, Google and Facebook are two different entities which fulfill different functions. Google is a search engine and Facebook is an online social media. People use Google for information retrieval and Facebook for online social interaction. So there is no basis for comparison.
Honestly speaking Facebook and Google are two different things. Google is almost controlling the whole web with variety of services Facebook still need to think creative and explore other 'markets' if they want to come near to Google.
I don't think so. But that is possible in the near future. If Facebook will enter the search engine market, most likely Google will be taken out of its current rank.
In terms of visits i have no idea if FB will get more but what i do know is they expect 1.2 to 1.3 billion members by end of 2012 with the average user spending 20-30 mins a day on the site and up to 50% of users visiting every other day. If they achieve that with what they are also rolling out on the e-commerce integration inside the facebook domain, they will be the most powerful internet based company on the planet! Because nothing can match the power of word of mouth or personal recommendation advertising / marketing! And those numbers and stats represent marketing scope at a level so far beyond anything we have ever tried to even comprehend! So when you combine the numbers with the method of operation and then add in a captive and all inclusive bubble around the site that means you don't need to leave to see what you want to see, or buy what you want to buy, you have a monster! If you are in e-commerce to make money in 2 years time, you will be more likely to have a FB page/portal and no website than the other way around. Just my 2 cents. And who really knows but i think that could happen if FB can keep up the momentum and they don't go off the boil....but no doubt even if that does, a few years later something else will come along and blow everything out of the water!
impossible imssion for fb, everything (expect social network) fb has are very small when place them beside G
Is just a measure of unique visitors actually worth anything? From a business perspective what matters is MONEY and I can tell you that Google is gonna kick ass with that.
Google brings in a lot more revenue, a lot more products and a lot more services. Facebook Ads doesn't compare to Adwords and although their getting more visits as the year progresses, Google will always be the internet Daddy. If there's one company that would possibly buy out Facebook in the future it'll probably be Google too.
Even I don't think it will beat Google. As there are many people who doesn't visit facebook but visit Google regularly. There are also few parts of world where people don' know about facebook but do know about Google. So i don't think it will happen
The comparison is not good,2 different things Facebook is just a social networking system and google have search engine + Google Affiliate Network, gmail, adwords, analytics and other good stuff all over the internet. Facebook is close maybe by traffic as google but i guess its never beat myghty google. My vote for google to stay number 1
