Will Facebook beat Google in 2011 ?

In 2009 October Face book unique U.S visitors are 97.37 million. In 2010 it went to 151.13 million U.S. unique visitors. That’s a growth rate of 55.2% year in year.It was the second most visitors,In first place it was Google.

I got this statement somewhere from forum thread and looks interesting dats y creating this thread so guys any idea about that stats if we see this stat it seems face book beat Google ...........

Google and facebook is really different things.

FB is social advertising only.

But google corp consist of

Adwords
Adsense
Blogspot
Orkut
Gmail
Voice
Etc
Etc
Etc

So my answer is NO

You are comparing apples with oranges. Google's core product is search. Facebook is a social network. The only comparison you can make is traffic but their business models are very different, they are not competing with each other.

In my point of view its not possible that FaceBook beat Google, and its not appropriate to forecast even because both have different grounds and sphere of influence.

The comparison is not fair first of all .
FB is just a social networking site.
Google has search engine, email, analytics, adsense, and a hell a lot of other stuffs floating all over the web.
FB is just a competitor in one specific domain - social networking. If you compare in that domain Fb has already overtaken Orkut

I don't think that will happened. in the first place, the two sites offer different services.. google is a search engine while facebook is a social media.. if we will just based it on traffic, then there is the big possibility for people all around the globe use FB.. However, FB can't offer search engine as what is Google is offering.

I dont think facebook is gonna beat google. At least not in the near future. Facebook mail looks promising. Have to wait and see how far it can make people move away from gmail.

I don't think fb will beat google. They still need lots of other service to offer other than social networking and ads to beat Google with their tons of services like adsense, adwords, webmaster tools, analytics, etc...
The traffic maybe, but the services.... nope!
