I heard from my physics teacher that one day it is going to happen...
All you have to do is think and the computer read your thoughts...

I dont think it will be that hard to develope that.

Don't forget everyone that there is a large class of people that is getting left behind with all of these technologies that we use on a daily basis. We just assume that everyone has a computer, ipod, cellphone, etc.

Typing won't go away anytime soon. THere are still some businesses that actually use typerwriters to this day!

Perhaps one da soon they will perfect the voice recognition typing assistant.

lol, in my experience, even if you pay a secretary/typists pool to type up your dictation they can still make mistakes, and i dont mean spelling mistakes, i mean misheard words/names/numbers etc.

if human error can still occur with today's technology, i think the perfect voice recognition assistant is some way in the future :p

As usual, it is the latest fad, in time we will go back to usable content again which will be the written word.

If I want a tutorial on how to do something nothing annoys me more than being forced to watch a 10 minute tutorial when I only want to know one small step in the process. With a text file I can instantly jump to the part that I want/ need.

Yep, that's the big issue I see right now.

In my situation the other problems include people not being able to watch/listen to video everywhere (it makes noise, slow connections, etc) plus the fact that video isn't well-indexed by SEs yet.

It will come, but it didn't take over the net in 2006 like the guru's suggested (of course, those gurus were selling multimedia info courses... ;) )
