Carragher was played on the left because Cole was suspended. Lennon, although a natural right winger, plays decently on the left for Tottenham. And the rest of the lefties are nothing great. Joe Cole enjoys a monopoly at that position, ( even he is not a natural left winger, mind you) but he is injured. Barry is more of a defensive medio, so I wouldn't really play him down the left if you are looking for guys who have excellent dribbling, crossing and ball control. Somewhere down the line, the basics are not being done
I agree on some points like the basics have to be done right. Lennon has played down the left for spurs, but he looks 'most' effective on the right. Its the same way with Gerrard, he plays right for lpool sometimes, but if i had a smashing player like Gerrard, i would definitely play him only MC, as he is 100 times better there. Cashly has looked nothing more than 'okay' for Chelsea all season long, whilst Baines has done an excellent job..
