Hi, I've been affiliate marketing for a few years now and my sales always ramp up Sept-Dec and then drop off after Christmas. This is my first year with eBay and sales have been growing steadily the past few months since I started, should I expect them to drop significantly in January? Im not sure if the growth has been my promotion of the sites or Christmas shoppers.
Normally sales after Boxing day will be slow especially with the deepening recession. I won't expect a crash as Ebay does offer bargains and in a recession, consumers look for bargains rather than high ended goods. But with average consumer power and confidence declining, I guess it will have an adverse effect on sales.
e bay usually have highest traffic during dec-jan ... Dec - people seeking christmas gift Jan - people selling unwanted gift....
Thanks for the replies, those things all make sense. Sounds like ebay is a bit different then my other stores and I may have one extra month of holiday sales in Jan
I think a lot more people list right after Christmas, but the number of buyers will go down...a friend of mine bought a $200 guitar on Dec. 26th for $5 last year
In my experience Jan is usually a very good month (better than Dec in fact) - but my niche is not a gift niche - so after christmas people are looking for a nice bargain, and a treat for themselves
