Will domain forwarding to wordpress hinder link development?

    Hi,

    I just joined the forum - I'm far from a SEO expert.

    I have a website domain that is forwarded to my wordpress blog. I've been promoting the domain, but there doesn't seem to be a robust link relationship between the domain and the wordpress blog.

    I get the feeling that if I was able to weld the domain and my blog together that my site would be more visible ...but I really don't know if that's the case.

    I'd post my domain and blog addresses here, but I'm not sure that I'm allowed to include links in threads.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Oh...

    I've just noticed that it's possible to see the domain I'm referring to if you click on my account and go to contact info. Obviously the domain will forward you through to my wordpress blog.

    Thanks again in advance

    if domain forwarding is done properly (301 redirect) then you should gain your seo effort on the wordpress blog.

    However, im not sure if after you have done a 301 redirect, SE stop accumulating value to your original domain and just pass the current value to your new url.

    @Camay123...

    Thanks v much. At this stage I don't actually know what a 301 redirect is, but I'll do some homework online and find out if that's what I have in place through my registrar [planetdomain].

    Thanks again!

    @Camay123 - I visited your link, and my redirect wasn't compliant with 301 ...so what I've done is re-do the redirect from the wordpress.com end. It make take a couple of days, but I hope that this approach will link my domain to my blog/site as far as the search engines are concerned.

    Thanks again : )
